Important Info regarding Keys

If possible, please provide your tenant with more than one set of keys, especially if there are 2 or more people living in the apartment. In case one of the keys gets lost or broken, they have immediate access to another set and you don’t have to worry about an immediate replacement. Thankfully, this happens only very rarely. As the old adage goes though, it is better to be safe than sorry.

In the Crocodilian Online Rental Agreement, you can also detail the important points related to the keys. Things like what to do in case of a lost key, costs, how to contact the owner, etc., need to be mentioned in the contract.

Safety Locks

We recommend having a security lock for your apartment. This way only the authorised person can make a copy of the keys. This provides more security to your apartment and prevents unauthorised extra copies being made unbeknownst to you.

Safety Door

Make sure that your apartment is protected also by a proper safety door or security system. Of course, there is no guarantee of absolute security. Generally, a burglar will give up trying to break in if the door cannot be opened in less than 5 minutes. Therefore, make sure that it is not too easy for them get unauthorised access to your apartment. In case of theft, usually electronic items (such as TVs, laptops, DVD players) are the possessions that are stolen. It is therefore certainly worth installing a proper safety system to avoid such a loss.
